(Cheonan, September 2011) Korea Computer Inc.(KOSDAQ, 054040) announced that it had recently started a 8-month development project in the technical support of ETRI(Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute) which in 1996 successfully commercialized CDMA for the first time in the world as the largest government funded research institute in Korea. The objective of the project is to make a new digital BPS (Band-Pass Sampling) receiver which is smaller, low cost, low power-consuming, and easy-to-manage. The project is a part of strategic government plans to encourage the regional industrialization of Korea and the total funding is about US$1m. With this project, Korea Computer expects to improve the competitiveness of existing business lines and to contribute to additional sales if the development project is successfully completed.
