Korea Computer started providing SMT services for power module to LS Power Semitech (LSPS)

Korea Computer Inc. (KOSDAQ, 054040) announced that it started producing intelligent power semiconductor module for LSPS that is a joint venture in Korea between Infineon Technologies of Germany and LS Industrial Systems of Korea. 

The intelligent power semiconductor module plays a critical role inside air conditioners, washers, and refrigerators by driving motors. When applied to home appliances, it saves the power consumption by 30% to 40% and thus it is essential in reducing CO2 emission and encouraging broader green technology adoption. As a key component necessary to build Smart Grid infrastructure, intelligent power semiconductor module can be applied to photovoltaic systems, wind power, batteries, and electric cars as well as home appliances.



Korea Computer expects its revenue from SMT contract manufacturing services for LSPS to reach 1.2 billion Korean Won in 2010 and increase over 200% in 2011.
